Job Description

A prominent Pasadena-based law firm is seeking an experienced Litigation Assistant to provide high-level support to a busy civil litigation and insurance defense practice. This Litigation Assistant role requires someone who can seamlessly manage a two-attorney desk, handle heavy trial preparation, oversee calendaring deadlines, and execute complex court filings with minimal oversight. The ideal Litigation Assistant will bring strong technical skills, familiarity with litigation technology platforms, and a proven track record of longevity in law firm environments. As a heavy trial firm, they are looking for a Litigation Assistant who can hit the ground running, thrives in a fast-paced legal environment, and delivers reliable, detail-oriented litigation support. This is a confidential opportunity with potential for temp-to-hire or direct hire for the right Litigation Assistant.

Key Requirements:

  • Minimum 3+ years of experience as a Litigation Assistant in civil litigation
  • Strong understanding of calendaring, court procedures, deadlines, and trial preparation
  • High proficiency with MS Office, macros, document management systems (Worldox), and calendaring software (Orian)
  • Insurance defense experience strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated longevity in previous Litigation Assistant roles
  • Ability to manage heavy filings, trial support, and a 30-40 case workload per attorney
  • Experience working with or supporting paralegal teams in a fast-paced trial-focused environment
